How Rust wipes work

  • Force wipe: Facepunch ships its monthly update on the first Thursday of the month, and the update starts a new map on every server that installs it, private ones included. Facepunch's wipe timer defaults to the first Thursday every month at 19:00 London time.
  • Blueprint wipe: separate from the map wipe, and not on a fixed calendar. Facepunch announces it in its devblog. In November 2025 it wiped all blueprints and all servers, and said it was not committing to doing that every month.
  • Exceptions happen. In December 2025 Facepunch postponed a planned update to February and shipped a wipe-only update on 4 December, then a Christmas update with no wipe on 18 December.
  • Mid-month updates (such as the Halloween update announced for 22 October 2026) are separate mandatory updates. The December 2025 Christmas update, for one, came with no wipe.

What private-server owners decide about wipes

The map wipe on the first Thursday comes with the update, on a private server too. What your group decides is the rest: whether blueprints wipe with it, and whether you also wipe the map between updates. On an Arcadyo private world, ask us and we do an extra wipe whenever you want one.

When is the next Rust force wipe?

The first Thursday of the month, at 19:00 London time by Facepunch's default wipe timer. This page computes the exact date and shows it in your own time zone.

What time does the Rust wipe happen?

The default is 19:00 in London, which is 19:00 UTC in winter and 18:00 UTC in summer (the clocks in the UK change in late March and late October). Facepunch's update announcements are the final word for a given month.

Does a force wipe reset blueprints?

A blueprint wipe is announced separately by Facepunch, so a normal monthly wipe does not imply one. The last one we could confirm was in November 2025.

Can the force wipe date change?

Yes. Facepunch has moved updates before, for example in December 2025. Treat the computed date as the normal date and check the Rust devblog on the day.

Do I have to wipe a private Rust server?

The map, yes, once a month: the first-Thursday update cannot load the old map. Blueprints and any extra wipes between updates are your group's call. Arcadyo does an extra wipe whenever you ask.
